swinburne

It's all completely FREE and we are reaching out for YOUR HELP!...

The study is to discover whether there is a correlation between Online Social Media usage and skills in Emotional Intelligence and how this affects our behaviour in effectively communicating online. There is such an astronomical move to communicate through Twitter we want to know what this means for our ability to be understood and do business online as humans!

For the first time on this planet we are bringing the emotional side into Social Media and here's how..

It's a word wide survey which you will receive the results if you participate. CLICK HERE

The Swinburne Brain Sciences Institute  who we are doing this study in conjunction with developed the Emotional Intelligence side of the survey and in an Open Innovation type project all of you were given the opportunity to complete the Social Media side up until the 5th of November 2009.

The Swinburne Brain Sciences Institute  has now compiled the one Survey scientifically bringing the Emotional Intelligence and Social Media questions together in a structured fashion.

If you want to participate as a company you will need to put your company name into the Survey.

Individuals who participate: will get the results of the project and a free copy of our e-book “Developing an Online Social Media Culture.”

Company’s which participate: will receive a copy of the overall results plus the results for their own company to compare themselves against and each participant a free copy of our e-book “Developing an Online Social Media Culture.”

So WE NEED YOU!  CLICK HERE to take part.

OOooooo yes nearly forgot if you want to see what anyone is saying about the project in Twitter check out (Twitter tag #EISM) or click on this link to the projects stream of consciousness

We would also love to have you as a friend on our FaceBook Fan page where we load interesting content for you to look at.

The survey seems less about 'establishing a correlation between Online Social Media usage and skills in Emotional Intelligence' than about establishing information about the employer and one assumes this is to position for some form of social-media-for-business product or corporate education programme.

All pulling in the same direction together to get results
Dear Kumaran,

Thank you for your comment here and the recent one in the Linkedin Wikinomics group. To state the obvious we don't know what we don't know and that’s why we embarked on this. This project was an Open Innovation project which was established by the People who contributed to it over a couple of months (everyone was invited at the time). It's to find out more about Social Media, yes in the workplace, as this is where we are finding it more and more with resilient pressure. It’s this pressure which casts the Emotional Intelligence element into light.

I have a passion in relation to the social science behind Social Media and bringing Emotional Intelligence together with Social Media made perfect sense to me. This project has been funded totally out of my pocked with the support of the the Brain Sciences Institute for the Emotional Intelligence scientifically developed portion and their software to run it on. Celia has also give up an exorbitant amount of effort and time in making this all happen. Getting a project like this passed the University Ethics committee was no mean feat.

One would assume that those who were integral in developing the survey had the foresight to establish criteria which would allow them to quickly mitigate any adverse effects to their staff, business or personal lives based on the outcome. We all are aiming to make the workplace a better and happier place to be in. Any e-mails submitted to the survey will only be used to follow up with the results and the free eBook.

The only tool we have at our disposal to gain trust on this project is transparency. If you are not used to that then please join the queue. We want to change the world and the way we work and establish a reason to get up in the morning.
